Surface Preparation

Shot Blasting: A dustless surface preparation method for metallic and concrete substrates that is most frequently utilized for the application of overlays and coatings. Shot blasting uses a high performance centrifugal wheel that propels the steel blast media at high speed in a controlled pattern at the substrate then utilizes a dust collection system to reclaim the media and remove the dust. It produces a uniform profile, removes laitance and cleans the substrate of contaminants.

Dustless Sand Blasting: While IPCC utilizes conventional sand blasting methods when permissible, we can also provide dustless methods for detail areas not accessible for shot blasting equipment. The two methods we incorporate are SpongeJet (www.spongejet.com) which incorporates the blast media into a small sponge to reduce the dust associated by absorbing the dust into the sponge. The other method is vapor blasting (www.blastallequipment.com/Vapor-Abrasive/Graco-Ecoquip) which introduces water into the media to reduce the dust associated with media blasting.

Scraping/Removal: In instances where an existing high build coating needs to be removed such as epoxies, polyureas and asphalt, a Big Red Beast terminator (www.blastpromfg.com/products/BRB-4500) is the most cost effective option compared to manual scrapers or jackhammers.
